HELP ME!!

If you need extra help with a topic there are options.  You may just need it explained another way or by someone else.... try any of these.

All resources are video based.  Some lessons have interactive practice built in.  Any of these can be used by the student or may be directly assigned by the teacher.   Ms. Dobson has a mapping of math standards for our course related to both Khan Academy and Iready lessons.  If you aren't sure which to view/use... this list can help.

Math Aids Worksheets  www.math-aids.com  This website provides a way to get a worksheet on many topics.  It also gives the answer sheet.  Ms. Dobson uses these sometimes but you can get one for your own practice.

Desmos  www.desmos.com  This website is for graphing.  It will be used in MJII for lines and in Algebra for lots more.

We have things to do to get ready for Algebra.  There are many things we can cover but the three most important things we will focus on is... Lines - graphing and using their formulas (y=mx+b) Exponent Rules Expressions/Equations  We will be doing the ramp up to Algebra assessment and working to get ready.... ======================================================================= If you don't have a grade as high as you would like then let's get to work to fix that!!   In class, stay alert, stay with me, ask questions and practice your skills.  - Classwork points will be earned most days. Assessments will be in the form of bellringers, exit-slips and the Iready diagnostic, so make sure you are understanding what we are doing and doing Iready's to get your skills up.    The ramp-up to Algebra is not an assessment grade, but your work on the required skills will be an important part of the end of this quarter!!!

MJII Advanced - Plan for last 2 weeks of school

Monday 5/21 - Continue our exponent rules and practice.  Classwork Exponent worksheets 5 & 6 (7 if we have time). Homelearning:   Exponent worksheet #7 Don't forget the last blue tab extra credit assignment is only available to complete through May 25th!!!  Wednesday 5/23 - Exponent Quiz followed by Algebra Nation Ramp up short diagnostic.... Are you ready??? Friday 5/25 (There will be a substitute).  Half of the class will be working on Algebra Nation proficiency following the ramp up.... work your way up.  Other half - SumDog competition online.  Wednesday 5/30 - Animal Kingdom field trip.   Anyone present will work on their ramp up work in Algebra Nation. Friday 6/1 - Last day of school - Giant Jenga and the Lipsync competition in the Auditorium.
