Monday April 2nd - Section 9 Topics 5-7 Notes in class and practice

Homelearning:  Complete practice problem at home if not done in class.
                          MathXL: Measures of Center and Spread (due Friday 4/6)

Wednesday April 4th - Section 9 Topics 8 and 9

Homelearning: Complete independent practice for Topics 8 and 9
                         Study for Section 9 Test - make sure you understand your notes, they are complete and you can work the problems.  This test is open notes.

Friday April 6th - Section 9 Test (open notes - - - - - You may not share notes)

Homelearning: If you are not happy with your grade on the open notes test.  Raising the grade means doing the following:

View the solution videos for all problems you missed when you took it.  Take notes as you view them and end with what you did wrong, or didn't understand when you incorrectly solved it.   You must turn in your notes and explanation in writing to Ms. Dobson on Tuesday.

Once you complete the notes and explanations (and during the weekend) you can retake the test.  It is by turning in the notes / explanation that your new score will be recorded.    You will get different questions on the retake, but your new score can replace the first one as long as you turn in your notes on the solution videos.

DUE: Tuesday at the start of class.

We have things to do to get ready for Algebra.  There are many things we can cover but the three most important things we will focus on is... Lines - graphing and using their formulas (y=mx+b) Exponent Rules Expressions/Equations  We will be doing the ramp up to Algebra assessment and working to get ready.... ======================================================================= If you don't have a grade as high as you would like then let's get to work to fix that!!   In class, stay alert, stay with me, ask questions and practice your skills.  - Classwork points will be earned most days. Assessments will be in the form of bellringers, exit-slips and the Iready diagnostic, so make sure you are understanding what we are doing and doing Iready's to get your skills up.    The ramp-up to Algebra is not an assessment grade, but your work on the required skills will be an important part of the end of this quarter!!!

MJII Advanced - Plan for last 2 weeks of school

Monday 5/21 - Continue our exponent rules and practice.  Classwork Exponent worksheets 5 & 6 (7 if we have time). Homelearning:   Exponent worksheet #7 Don't forget the last blue tab extra credit assignment is only available to complete through May 25th!!!  Wednesday 5/23 - Exponent Quiz followed by Algebra Nation Ramp up short diagnostic.... Are you ready??? Friday 5/25 (There will be a substitute).  Half of the class will be working on Algebra Nation proficiency following the ramp up.... work your way up.  Other half - SumDog competition online.  Wednesday 5/30 - Animal Kingdom field trip.   Anyone present will work on their ramp up work in Algebra Nation. Friday 6/1 - Last day of school - Giant Jenga and the Lipsync competition in the Auditorium.
